Limit to Your Love

Ora aí está um álbum deveras irritante. A primeira faixa desperta a minha curiosidade: eis algo de novo debaixo do sol. Acho graça à segunda faixa, começo a bufar na terceira e, à quarta, já estou enojada com tanto sintetizador e com tanto efeito artificialíssimo na voz... Tudo tem de ter conta, peso e medida (menos o amor) e aquilo é demais! Na quinta faixa já só penso em pontapear o leitor de cd’s, ou então em arrancar de lá o disco e estilhaçá-lo contra a parede. O senhor James Blake dá-me cabo dos nervos. A sexta faixa não vem acalmar-me; deixa-me pior. Porque é maravilhosa. Claro que não é do enervante Blake, foi escrita por Feist, mas o exasperante Blake eleva-a a um nível bem superior. O que o perturbante Blake tem de bom, de muito bom, são aquelas pausas súbitas, inesperadas, que param o tempo ou o abrandam muitíssimo, como «uma queda de água em slow motion». Este inglês de 24 anos, artista pós-dubstep como lhe chama a BBC, com influências do soul e dos blues, é genial... e irritante, mantenho. Passa a faixa sete, passa a oito, mas já não as ouço. Fiquei presa neste Limit to Your Love, ainda mais numa altura em que ando fartinha fartinha destes limites tão apertados que vejo em alguns amores.

Here it is a truly annoying album. The first track arouses my curiosity: this is something new under the sun. I kind of like the second track, start to huff by the third and, by the fourth, I'm already disgusted with so many synthesizers and artificial effects in his voice ... Everything has to be well balanced (minus love) and this album is overdone! By the fifth track I only think of kicking the cd player, or taking off the cd and shatter it against the wall. Mister James Blake gets on my nerves. The sixth track does not calm me down; t makes me worse. Because it’s wonderful. Of course the irritating Blake is not the author, it was written by Feist, but the infuriating Blake elevates it to a higher level. What is good, very good, about the disturbing Blake, are those sudden, unexpected pauses, that stop or slow down time, as «a waterfall in slow motion». This 24 years old english guy, post dubstep artist as BBC calls him, with influences from soul and blues, is a genius... and annoying, I insist. The seventh, then the eighth track went playing, but I no longer was listening. I was stuck with this Limit to Your Love, specially now, when I am fed up with these so tight limits that I see in some lovers.
