Foi um dos nomes que despontou depois da entrada em cena
de M.I.A. e em especial Santogold
- o primeiro nome artístico de Santi White, agora reconvertido em Santigold
depois de, diz o Guardian, ter sido
processada por Santo Gold, um joalheiro e produtor cinematográfico que teve o
ponto alto da sua carreira com o filme Santo Gold’s Blood Circus,
onde mistura ambientes tão díspares como a ficção científica e o wrestling. De
regresso a Amanda Blank… a sua proximidade com várias figuras deste «novo» som que
mistura rap com uma eletrónica ‘suja’ e aparentemente pouco cuidada, que aposta
tudo numa batida forte e contagiante e em figuras de palco que gritam e saltam em
formações quase minimais – vocalista, dj artilhado com computador e bailarinos
- e que contagia as audiências com ritmos irresistivelmente dançáveis, deixava
adivinhar uma aventura a solo. Shame on Me, a 6ª
faixa de I Love You, faz bem a
síntese da estreia discográfica de Blank.

She was one of the names that emerged after the debut of M.I.A. and especially Santogold - Santi White’s first stage name, now converted into Santigold. According to The Guardian, it happened when she was sued by Santo Gold, a jeweler and film producer who’s career highlight is the movie Santo Gold's Blood Circus, which mixes such different environments as science fiction and wrestling. Back to Amanda Blank ... being so close to several big names of this «new» sound that mixes rap with ‘dirty’ and apparently rough electronic sounds, that bets everything on a strong beat and contagious stage characters that scream and jump in almost minimal formations – a singer, one computer equipped dj and some dancers - and infects the audience with irresistibly danceable rhythms, it wasn’t a surprise when Blank came with a solo adventure. Shame on Me is I Love You’s 6th track, and it makes the perfect synthesis of Blank's debut record.
